Meet Kris, our Assistant Manager.
Kris graduated in December, 2014 from the University of Missouri, Columbia with a bachelor degree of Finance & Banking. Now he's chasing my MBA degree in Columbia College. He had no experience working in fitness industry, so he started from a front-desk associate, trained by the owner John, and learned from other co-workers. This year, Kris got promoted to assistant manager position.
How did you start working here?
Before I came to work at Body Refinery Gym, I was working in a Mercedes Dealership. In September 2015, I joined the US Army, so I needed time to work out and have a healthy lifestyle. In order to have more free hours, I quit the dealership and came to work for Body Refinery Gym.
What advice would you give to someone looking for a job in your field?
As a gym, we provide service to our customers, so customer service is very important for all gyms. If you want to work in the fitness industry, make sure you are professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and the easiest thing you can start from is a smile.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
What does a typical day look like for you?
Usually I will stay at the front desk greeting and solving problems for customers, giving tours and signing contracts for new customers, inspiring other staff to be energetic, friendly, and professional. I also make smoothies for customers and work around to ensure our gym keep clean.
